FSCL Wins First Place at Syracuse University’s iPrize, and Advance to New York State Business Plan Competition Finals In Consumer Products and Services Category.
Syracuse, New York: On April 14, 2020, Syracuse University announced the winners of the Raymond Von Dran iPrize (RVDiPrize), Hunter Brooks Watson Spirit of Entrepreneurship Award, as well as the regional winners of the New York State Bussiness Plan Competition (NYBPC). FSCL, who entered the competitions in the Consumer Products and Services category, took the first place prize at the RVDiPrize and was the only company to win in the category. Additionally, FSCL was announced as one of two regional winners in the Consumer Products and Services category of the NYSBPC and will move on to the state finals in early May.
Sam Hollander, is the Founder, and CEO of FSCL. “I am extremely happy and thankful for winning the competition, and would like to thank FSCL’s collaborators, advisors, and the entire team” Hollander said. He further expressed his excitement to continue competing in the NYBPC Finals.
The Raymond Von Dran iPrize (RVDiPrize) is an annual competition funded by an endowment to the School of Information Studies (iSchool) at Syracuse University. The prize is named after former iSchool Dean, Raymond Von Dran. “In [Ray]’s tenure he brought [the iSchool] to national prominence and is [now] continuously ranked as one of the top iSchools in the United States,” explained John Liddy, Director of the Information Design, Technology and Startups Program (IDS) at the iSchool.
The NYPBC is a statewide business plan competition with qualifiers in 10 different regions across the state (Long Island, New York City, Mid-Hudson Valley, Capital Region, Mohawk Valley, North Country, Central New York, Southern Tier, Western New York and Finger Lakes). Syracuse University hosted the regional qualifier for the Central New York Region, through the Blackstone Launchpad at Syracuse University, Powered by Techstars.
